Hop Earth Controls: Complete Hop.Earth Keybind Guide
Check Hop.Earth keyboard controls for driving, car recovery, nitro, maps, camera and pointer lock, with practical help when the game does not respond.
To check Hop.Earth controls directly, open the game and hold H. The keybinds below follow the help-screen mappings in the official Hop.Earth client bundle. They are official client definitions, not a promise that every mode behaves identically. This page does not report an authenticated gameplay test; if your live H screen differs, trust it.
Common Driving Controls
| Key | Official help mapping |
|---|---|
W A S D or arrow keys | Drive or walk |
F | Enter or exit the car |
J | Nitro; hold to jump with the car |
Space | Handbrake or kickflip |
X | Reset the car; hold to return to the road |
Use W A S D or the arrow keys for movement on foot and behind the wheel. F handles both entering and exiting a car. The duration-sensitive controls are J—tap for nitro and hold to jump—and X, whose recovery action changes when you hold it.
Recovery and Input Focus
Use X when the car needs recovery. A normal press resets the vehicle, while holding X returns it to the road. That gives you two different options: reset after a flip or bad landing, and road recovery when the car has ended up away from usable road.
Hold J when the car catches on broken road geometry or needs to jump over an obstacle. The official mapping describes Space as a handbrake/kickflip control, so its result can depend on the vehicle’s current state.
On-foot vehicle summoning needs caution. A secondary controls transcription associates holding X with summoning a vehicle, but the primary client mapping verified here lists X for car reset and road recovery. Treat on-foot summoning as unconfirmed and check the live help screen before relying on it.
If a key appears not to work, check keyboard focus before changing the keybind. Click the game surface, make sure the browser tab is active, and leave any text field. Since T is the message control, an active message field can intercept normal keystrokes. Then hold H; if the controls screen does not open, the problem may be focus, loading, or the current session rather than an incorrect control. See the Hop.Earth beginner guide and rendering troubleshooting guide for broader startup issues.
Interface and Camera Controls
| Key | Official help mapping |
|---|---|
H | Open help and controls |
M | Open the world map |
Tab | Open the scoreboard |
T | Send a message |
N | Play the next tune |
K | Toggle full screen |
L | Enable pointer lock |
V | Change camera shoulder |
L is the pointer-lock control for mouse look, while V changes the camera shoulder. M opens the map when you need to change your location or inspect the world. Use H whenever you want to compare the documented mappings with the behavior in your current session.
Still unable to play?
If you cannot reach the game, keybind changes will not resolve the access problem. Use the CAPTCHA and login troubleshooting guide, or the game-joining guide when sign-in succeeds but a session does not start.
